Catholicism at FSU 

Hello! I am a college freshman who is studying English and Communications. I chose to research and write about this topic because I wanted to gain knowledge on Catholicism at my university and I was curious as to how the organization functioned.  My previous experience with Catholism is mainly sitting in church listening to Mass in Spanish every random holiday that rolled around. I never had an true connection to the church or the congregations. Upon entering CSU, I felt like a minority instaneously as the people sitting on the pews were majority Caucasian and I was actually listening to Mass in English for the first time. Coming from a Hispanic and Black background, this experience was surprising and startling to say the least. I did enjoy my experience with the Catholic Student Union to a degree, but I was constantly aware that this is an organizaion I couldn't be a part of because it didn't line up with my personal beliefs and even though I did feel welcome, I didn't feel comfortable. Through research and observation, I learned more about CSU, how they communicate, and how religious entities at my school function.
